ABOUT THE LITTLE ROCK FOODIE
The idea for The Little Rock Foodie all started with drinks on New Year’s Eve 2019. My wife and I were sitting at The Capital Bar and Grill and the conversation turned to an upcoming trip to Las Vegas.
Besides Little Rock, my absolute favorite city in the United States is Las Vegas. It is a food lover’s dream city, a pilgrimage that everyone should undertake. I found The Las Vegas Foodie account and was wowed by the local restaurants she showcased that I had never heard of. After a quick Instagram search, I saw there was not a Little Rock Foodie…
After some amazing support from my wife, we registered the Little Rock Foodie handle and here we are. A few years of growing an account to help others find awesome restaurants in Little Rock. Having owned a restaurant before, I thought this would be a great tool to help local restaurants, and also give me a great excuse to explore the city and enjoy my huge eating out habit.
It definitely took a lot of learning, as I had never really taken pictures of food before. I am thankful for my wife helping me with how to use Instagram and for her ideas to make the content so much better.
You can see from this first picture ever posted that this experiment could have easily not worked…. (by the way, the gallontine special from Loblolly is still amazing!)
After a lot more support and help from my wife, things progressed and people seemed to like following the account, which slowly keeps growing! I really appreciate all of the support, likes, follows, and of course stories of finding new favorite restaurants! It is so fun to quickly help someone that asks for a last-minute recommendation! Seriously, if you have read this far and continue to follow my content, THANK YOU!
This site hopefully takes The Little Rock Foodie to new levels. We truly have an outstanding and diverse food culture in our city. There are so many restaurants to discover, and hopefully, this site helps those restaurants continue to thrive in what is an increasingly difficult business. Make sure to follow my Instagram account, check back to this site often for updates, or send me an email to suggest new ideas!
I think we can all agree that the current pictures are getting a bit better, and hopefully, I can continue to showcase our local foods even better!
